Introduction
The Judicial Branch is the third branch of the United States’ government. It serves to complete the checks and balances essential to our democracy. The Judiciary works to interpret and validate the laws passed by Congress and upheld by the Executive branch. They are the protectors of the Constitution, using this document to substantiate or reject all other laws created in our country. This often undermined portion of the government has proved its worth many times - whether it be establishing the rights of women and African Americans or protecting all of our personal freedoms, the Judicial Branch has made decisions that have affected millions of people
